EL CAJAS

A beautiful natural park of the Andes region in southern Ecuador, only a couple of kilometres from Cuenco. The rugged terrain of the mountainous park offers more than three hundred lakes, rocky peaks and unique animal and plant life. Due to the harsh climatic conditions, the local forests are limited to sparse growths of the resilient Polylepis tarapacana tree. The park is ideal for treks along marked trails ranging from a couple of hours to several days.
