A small village nestled in a mountain pass, known mainly for its hot springs. This spa resort lying only 64 km from Quito is a popular weekend destination for both the locals and the tourists. The springs flow from the massif of the Antisana, a 5,753 metres high active volcano, and their proven healing properties are used for a number of various therapies. The area is ideal for horse riding, hiking, biking or trout-fishing.
