MACHALILLA

The Machalilla National Park lies in the southern part of the coast in the Manabí province, in the vicinity of Puerto Lopez. The park covers more than 60,000 hectares including several islands, such as: Isla de Salango or the better known Isla de la Plata. It is the only coastal national park in Ecuador. Tourist can visit beautiful beaches like the Los Frailes or local native communities in Agua Blanca. The climate is very humid with a high number of sunny hours per day during the whole year. The majestic natural scenery is accompanied by rich biodiversity. Some of the sea and land animals found in the Galápagos can also be seen here and no nature enthusiast should miss the opportunity to visit this beautiful region.
